Frequently Asked Questions

How does Apex Health Meds work?

Apex Health is designed to be more than a telehealth platform, but still simple for our clients. You can start treatment in three easy steps.

1) Complete a medical intake and (if necessary) have lab work done to verify a medical need for treatment.
2) Speak to your new healthcare provider through a telehealth (audio-visual) appointment.
3) If medically appropriate, receive your medication in the mail every 30-days, or 60-days, or 90-days from a mail-order pharmacy provider (depending on your provider’s decision).

We want to enable you to form a long-term connection with Apex Health so that we can provide ongoing care for your specific condition. With that in mind, Apex Health is designed for patients seeking long-term care.

At Apex Health, we take pride in offering a wide range of customized solutions, meticulously designed to align with the individual goals of our clients and adapt flexibly to their budget. Our commitment is to provide exceptional service that exceeds their expectations.

If you want to have your order filled at a local pharmacy instead of via Apex Health’s platform, please note that the local pharmacy may charge you a fee for your medication which Apex Health is unable to assist with. Most clients save over $1,000 per month by filling their orders via Apex Health.

Yes, all medications are made in a State Board of Pharmacy-licensed sterile compounding pharmacies or FDA-licensed 503(b) Outsourcing Facilities. We work with pharmacies licensed in all 50 states using only the highest quality ingredients.

Medically approved clients are typically offered prescription (Liraglutide / Cyanocobalamin) or (Semaglutide / Cyanocobalamin) Injections. These are slowly absorbed by the body over a day or week to help reduce appetite and cravings.

The medication you may be prescribed is a compounded medication and is not associated with the Novo Nordisk™ company or the brand-name medications Saxenda®, Victoza®, Wegovy® or Ozempic®.

The FDA-approved brand name drugs, such as Saxenda®, Victoza®, Wegovy®, and Ozempic® are exclusively available from the Novo Nordisk™ company. Mounjaro® and Zepbound™ are exclusively available from Eli Lilly and Company™. Apex Health Meds™ does not claim any affiliation with, or endorsement from, the above-mentioned products or entities. We do not offer any of the above-mentioned products, anyone seeking said products should discuss options with their licensed healthcare provider or pharmacist.

Apex Health Meds exclusively offers compounded medications, which are made in State Board of Pharmacy-licensed sterile compounding pharmacies, or FDA-licensed 503(b) Outsourcing Facilities. While these facilities are strictly regulated, the compounded medications they make are not FDA-approved, as they are compounded based on an individual provider’s prescription for a specified patient. Strength, dose, route of administration, and other variables may make compounded medications different from FDA-approved drugs which makes directly comparing results & risk profiles between FDA-approved drugs and compounded drugs difficult.

Any compounded drugs prescribed are based on a licensed provider’s medical judgment based on a telehealth encounter and medical history.

Actual weight loss is dependent on several factors but many Apex Health Meds clients lose around 5% of their initial body weight. Over 12 weeks, it can be as high as 10%. This equates to a weight loss of 10–20 pounds for a 200-pound person.

Everyone is different though and the most successful patients also work hard to make diet and lifestyle changes.

Healthy weight loss is often defined as 1-2lbs per week. Extreme weight loss is not a medically desired effect.

After your provider has prescribed a GLP-1 Medication or another weight loss option, we send your prescription to a licensed compounding pharmacy. It typically takes 3-4 business days for the pharmacy to process the order which is then shipped via 2-Day shipping.

Overall, most clients receive their medication within 5-8 business days from when they speak to their provider. Please note, that clients in California may experience increased fulfillment time due to additional compound testing requirements.

Please see the above video about performing a subcutaneous injection. Always ask your provider or licensed medical professional if you have any difficulties or questions.

Patients seeking treatment for GLP-1 programs need to be at least 18 years of age and no older than 75.

Intravenous therapy is a medical treatment that involves administering medications, nutrients, or fluids directly into the bloodstream through an intravenous route. This is done by inserting a needle into a vein, through which the necessary fluid or medication is administered for treatment. Intravenous therapy is used to provide rapid absorption of medications, replenish fluids and electrolytes, and administer nutrients in cases of malnutrition or malabsorption.

Intravenous therapies administer fluids, medications, or nutrients directly into the bloodstream through an intravenous route. The process includes patient evaluation, equipment preparation, catheter placement in a vein, administration of fluids or medications, and patient monitoring. This therapy is used for rehydration, pain medication administration, nutrient supplementation in cases of malnutrition, chemotherapy, and antibiotics.

There are several types of intravenous therapies, including rehydration therapy, parenteral nutrition therapy, chemotherapy therapy, blood transfusion therapy, and intravenous medication therapy. Each type of intravenous therapy has a different purpose and is administered differently.

Some risks associated with intravenous therapy include infection, allergic reactions, extravasation (leakage of fluid outside the vein), thrombosis (blood clots), and damage to surrounding tissues. It is important for patients to inform their doctor if they experience any side effects or complications during intravenous therapy.

Preparation for intravenous therapy can vary depending on the type of therapy. In general, patients should inform their doctor about any medications they are taking as well as any allergies they have. Patients may also be required to fast before intravenous therapy.

The duration of intravenous therapy can vary depending on the type of therapy and the condition being treated. Some intravenous therapies may last only a few minutes, while others may last several hours or even days.

The cost of intravenous therapy can vary depending on the type of therapy and the geographic location. Patients may wish to contact their insurance company for more information about coverage for intravenous therapy.

To prevent infections during intravenous therapy, it is important for medical professionals to follow proper hygiene practices, such as washing their hands and using sterile gloves. Patients should also ensure that the injection site is kept clean and dry.

To minimize pain during intravenous therapy, patients can ask the medical professional to use a smaller needle or to apply an anesthetic cream to the injection site. They can also distract themselves with music, television, or reading during intravenous therapy.

If a patient experiences any side effects during intravenous therapy, they should immediately inform the medical professional. Depending on the side effect, the doctor may decide to stop the intravenous therapy or adjust the dosage of the medication.
